When you buy products low-processed without additions, you avoid eating such substances as glucose-fructose syrup, artificial flavours, carrageenan, stabilizers, thickeners, palm oil, preservatives.
Dextrose is a simple sugar, similar to glucose, rather a form of glucose – increases the energy balance of the body. It is crystalline glucose produced from genetically modified (GMO) corn starch, very rarely from rice or wheat.
Dextrose, similar as Maltodextrin is just as bad, sometimes worse, as sugar.
It is commonly used for the production of cookies, cakes, sauces, candies, energy drinks and frozen desserts. Dextrose is added to foods not only to sweeten them, but also as a filler or a texturizing agent for cured meats, canned foods, pretzels, pickles crisps and crackers.
Dextrose is considered to be the best creatine transporter. It has gained immense popularity among people who practice bodybuilding or strength sports.
